Following in the footsteps of their successful brunch concept, where the best quality ingredients and free flow wines are presented in Soleil’s six-star luxury at a price that is almost too good to be true, Afternoon Tea takes place lakeside at The Bar, a spacious, semi open-air dining venue that exudes the feeling of a sophisticated, yet relaxed residential estate. Innovative floral designs, exquisitely upholstered sofas, oversized chairs artfully designed in sculptured metal, views of Eden Garden and the warm glow of the sun softly filtering in from the aquamarine Lake Mulia create a cheerful, fanciful ambience.

They offer two styles of Afternoon Tea to cater to The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas’ diverse clientele who visit from all over the world. The first is the Classic, a three-tiered set that offers Classic three-tiered plate set offers a Western variety of dainty finger sandwiches wrapped in salmon or ham, miniature scones accompanied by fresh strawberry compote and whipped cream, and impeccably designed pastries including flan, cheesecake and mixed fruit tarts.

The Indonesian three-tiered plate set is a heartier  option, featuring both Indonesian and Balinese delicacies including otek-otek, a moist and flavourful fish cake, prawns dipped in a mild chilli sauce, pisang goreng, delicately fried banana accompanied by a light cream sauce, a mini gado gado salad, one of Bali’s hallmark dishes, flaky pastele stuffed with vegetables and egg and traditional Balinese desserts bursting with coconut and palm sugar.

In addition to the three-tiered plate set of your choice, a variety of fresh canapés are also served throughout the afternoon including sushi, dim sum and mini-quiches. Choose from a varied selection of international hot and iced teas and coffees. Depending on your mood, you have green (sencha and jasmine), black (Earl Grey and English Breakfast), herbal (oolong), flavoured (black currant and peach) and aromatherapy (peppermint and chamomile) amongst other teas from which to choose. Shall it be an iced cappuccino or a strong, hot espresso? The Bar serves two types of top quality coffees including the famous Illy brand from Italy and Opal, a 100-percent Arabica variety from the cool hillsides of Sumatra.

A sorbet and ice cream wheel chills several frozen concoctions including The Cafe’s signature mango sorbet and macadamia nut ice cream, topped with a dream-like selection of toppings if you so desire. Melt-in-your-mouth pralines, freshly baked cookies, a rainbow of macaroons, two flavours of homemade yogurt with yet again, another awe-inspiring display of fifteen candied and fresh fruit toppings, two refrigerator cases stocked full of cakes, puddings, mousses and The Cafe’s signature coffee and coconut jellies are just the beginning.  Putting a contemporary twist on Indonesian favourites, order a custom grilled banana topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sprinkles, or indulge in a bowl of Bubur Ketan Hitam or design your own creation from the Es Kacang Merah buffet.
