Director of Food & Beverage at Inaya Putri Bali
E: Describe your typical day in a sentence.
Agung: I start with a positive spirit in the morning, and continue with planning, organising and executing throughout the day. In between my busy schedule, I take a break to enjoy simple pleasures.
E: So how did you come to be the Director of Food &Beverage for Inaya Putri Bali?
A: I was in the pre-opening team of Inaya Putri Bali back in 2014 and got my start as the assistant director of F&B to develop the SOPs, concepts of F&B outlets and MICE concepts, recruit the F&B staff and manage procurement of the operating equipment until all the outlets were opened. After a year I was promoted to be the director of food and beverage.
E: What’s the toughest part of your job?
A: Doing the same tasks on a daily basis and not learning new things. I prefer to do a job that demands more from me. It keeps me motivated and keeps me going.
E: And what makes you smile at work?
A: When I get to meet clients and customers, and hear their good words.
E: What motivates you?
A: My family.
E: Would things fall apart if you weren’t around?
A: I have a very strong team in every section so I am very confident that all the jobs in the division would be well handled.
E: Who, in your team, deserves more recognition and why?
A: Everyone who has worked well and produced the best results.

E: Away from work, what’s your favourite place to eat?
A: I love the local food and I always look for any well-known local restaurants in town.
E: How do you unwind?
A: I love nature and spend time relaxing in places with greenery or in the mountains. During a weekend getaway with my little family is when I’m happiest.
E: Finally, any advice for those looking to break into the industry?
A: Work with passion, never give up and always try to do your best to become a role model.
