Bali Mary

The St. Regis Bali Resort

A twist on the classic Bloody Mary, the Bali Mary at The St. Regis Bali Resort is perhaps the most legendary of our top pick cocktails, and it has quite a story to tell. The Bloody Mary itself was first created at The St. Regis New York’s King Cole Bar (see our “Famous Five” section), so today, the Bloody Mary remains the signature cocktail of the St. Regis brand, with each hotel around the world crafting its own interpretation of the libation.

The Bali Mary at the The St. Regis Bali Resort therefore draws its inspiration from both Indonesia’s cuisine and agriculture. It’s still clear that the drink is a reinterpretation of the original, but it comes with additional twists and Indonesian flavours. Succulent jicama and cucumber, often found in local dishes, adds a refreshing element to the velvety tomato juice, while its spiciness is rounded out by the unique addition of brown sugar. It’s not often we turn down a classic Bloody Mary, but at The St. Regis Bali Resort, we order the Bali Mary every time.
