Fairmont Jakarta recently held a dining experience unlike any other with Dining in The Dark. Taking place in the hotel’s ballroom on 3rd December, discerning diners enjoyed an elegant 12-course set menu courtesy of Fairmont Jakarta’s skilled chefs. The intriguing twist to the plot was that the dinner was served in total darkness, evoking a complete sensory experience of savouring culinary delights through taste, smell, touch and sound.
Visually impaired individuals from Yayasan Mitra Netra – who have been specially trained to offer guidance to sighted guests – guided and served the curious diners, creating a unique experience for both roles. Dubbed a solidarity event for the visually impaired, the dinner was a fundraising event supporting the efforts and initiatives of Yayasan Mitra Netra to help the visually impaired achieve a sustainable life.
