FIRE-Breakfast

The Sunday Brunch at FIRE is a sophisticated dining experience that explores and expands on many of the famous gastronomic delights peddled by the ubiquitous Asian street hawkers or found in the region’s remarkable street food markets; as well as offering a range of tasty international buffet brunch items.

Eating Asian street food the traditional way can be a full frontal assault on the eyes, ears, nose and taste buds. Head into any traditional food market or walk through any area crowded by street hawkers and the aroma, the intriguing ingredients and the vibrant colours can overwhelm even the diehard diner.

For those who love all the taste but can live without the hassle, Director of Cuisine Jack Yos presents the Hawker Street Feast featuring some of the very best examples of Asian street food, prepared, presented and served in the style and comfort one expects from the striking W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak.

Sit inside the elegant and cool interior space with its moody atmosphere and comfortable cushioned seating, or go alfresco and take a veranda table overlooking the pool and ocean and soak up the laidback beats. Wherever you sit, you can be assured of excellent service and a most enjoyable brunch.

It’s not all about street food though, with an impressive selection of international food on offer. From the restaurant’s kitchen: eggs Benedict, fresh crabs, oysters, slipper lobster, a selection of cured meats and cheese, breads, pastries and salads, all compliment the range of street food, such as mixed satay, masala dosa, nasi goreng, steamed meat buns and tacos cooked and served from the outside hawker stalls in W trademark vendor cartons.

Back indoors, the street theme continues with a delicious selection of dishes, such as curried duck, paella, spiced fish and pork belly, often creatively presented as individual servings. Many of the deserts too take a street flavour, although traditional favourites, such as mousse, soft cakes, gelato and a selection of delicious POD chocolates crafted specifically for W, are extremely popular.

The brunch at FIRE is one of two delicious Sunday brunches available at W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak, the other being at its beachside restaurant, Starfish Bloo. The Hawker Street Feast opens at noon and serves until 3.30PM; soft drinks, including several traditional jamu-style drinks, are included in the price with wine and Louis Roederer Champagne packages available as optional extras.

And for those really wanting to make a splash, WET – W’s lagoon-style pool, is also available for brunch guests, so why not extend your experience with a relax and swim, or take cocktails at the world-famous WooBar and enjoy sunset with the relaxed beats at one of Bali’s most impressive venues?

Favourite Feature:

Call it indulgent but the delicious range of POD chocolates, created wholly in Bali using Balinese cocoa at their small factory north of Ubud and crafted specifically for the W Resort and Spa, are simply sublime and a perfect way to finish your FIRE Sunday Brunch experience. The chocolate is smooth and rich and the filled individual chocolates have some surprising centres. The favourite is perhaps the brilliant red lips, bite-sized chocolate kisses with just a hint of chilli – perfect with your coffee.
