Head Chef at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar

Helmed by Manchester-born Gareth Packham and located in Central in the heart of Hong Kong, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar aims to provide diners with a sublime and classic British dining experience. For Chef Gareth, heading up the Gordon Ramsay Group’s fabulous Hong Kong eatery is just the latest in a long association with one of the world’s most prestigious culinary groups.

Gareth’s career started at The Midland Hotel before moving to The French, a two-rosette restaurant. From there, after over three years as chef de partie, and aged just 22, he moved to London where his collaboration with the Gordon Ramsay Group began at the Savoy Grill where he led a team of 35 chefs.

His enthusiasm and desire to learn was such that he volunteered to work in different Gordon Ramsay Group restaurants on his days off to improve his skills. During his time, Gareth also travelled extensively through Spain, France and Australia gaining both insight and inspiration into different techniques and ingredients, which he used to great effect back at The Savoy and since.

With typical modesty Gareth describes what he gets from being a chef: “It is not what I can do in the kitchen, it’s what I can teach the team to do and, in return, what I learn from the team.”

Classic Beef Wellington

Classic Beef Wellington is one of the signature dishes on the menu at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, where this exceptional dish is cooked using only finest aged-beef fillet. The beef is cooked to medium-rare, surrounded by a layer of wild mushroom and Parma ham, all of which is encased in a crispy pastry and baked to mouth-watering perfection.
