Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta Welcomes Guest Chef Katsuki Toshihisa

 

Fans of Japanese cuisine will be in for a treat this coming 27th of February to 3rd of March. Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta’s Nishimura restaurant plays host to revered Japanese master chef Katsuki Toshihisa, the executive chef of the Nishimura Group.

 

With 38 years of experience working at traditional Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong, Chef’s Katsuki transforms handpicked artisan ingredients into stunning culinary centrepieces with his deft and masterful knife techniques and thought provoking presentations.

 

For the duration of Chef Katsuki’s visit, Nishimura restaurant offers a sumptuous lunch set of Sesame Tofu, tantalising fresh Sashimi, Crab Meat Chawan Mushi, a choice of tempura, grilled fish or beef, nigiri sushi, miso soup and finished with green tea pudding.

 

For dinner, Chef Katsuki serves up a delicious six-course set menu consisting of prawn ball soup, Sashimi of selected air-flown fresh seafood, boiled Yellowtail soup, Wagyu steak, Wakasagi tempura, Nigiri sushi, Miso soup and a green tea pudding.

 

For cooking enthusiasts, Shangri La also prepared a special cooking class with Chef Katsuki. The adults’ class is on 28th of February 2017, and the children class is on 4th of March 2017. Fresh ingredients will be specially prepared for the participants, who will be able to bring home their apron, a recipe card, a sushi bamboo roll and cherished memories of learning from master Katsuki himself. Participants will also enjoy a special lunch with Chef Katsuki after the class.

 

Guests eager to enjoy Chef Katsuki’s culinary creations in a more casual setting can enjoy the Chef’s special Japanese buffet station at the hotel’s SATOO buffet venue on the 4th and 5th March 2017.
