The service at Tien Chao Chinese Restaurant is superlative, as is the attention to detail in the kitchens, where the talented chefs take Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine to the next level with creative contemporary dishes that have grown out of the rich regional culinary traditions and offer tantalising flavours.
Of particular note is Tien Chao’s Peking duck, a succulent dish that is prepared meticulously resulting in tender meat and crispy flavoursome skin served with all the appropriate accoutrements. The à la carte menu is packed with other popular dishes, such as steamed fish and black pepper beef, and runs the full gamut from double-boiled soups, to prime meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, rice and noodles. Desserts include lemongrass jelly and dragon fruit pudding.
Weekend lunchtimes, meanwhile, are family-friendly with an extensive selection of all-you-can-eat steamed, baked and deep-fried dim sum, hand-pulled noodles, stir-fried vegetables, soup and dessert, making this weekly event a huge favourite.
