Famed for its sustainable living ethos, the luxury hotel in Seminyak is revamping its afternoon tea concept and adopting a healthier approach with kombucha.
Dedicated to wellbeing initiatives, Alila Seminyak is revamping its afternoon tea concept with a healthier and more sustainable approach. The highlight of this artisanal culinary journey is the substitution of classic tea for kombucha, which is paired with specially crafted canapés inspired by local ingredients.
Kombucha is a fermented tea with numerous health benefits, rich in probiotics and antioxidants. The combination of black or green tea with sugar and SCOBY, a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast fermented for 10 to 14 days, results in a gut-loving and healthy beverage. Among the health benefits offered by this detoxifying tea are strengthened immunity, improved digestion, reduced inflammation and lower blood pressure.
Alila Seminyak’s artisan brewers have creatively crafted a journey to indulge your palate with four flavours of free-flow house-brewed and fermented kombucha paired with a set of sweet and savoury canapés, embodying the taste of Alila and Seasalt. The excitement does not end here, as more creative ideas will continue to be explored for new assortments, such as kombucha cocktails or kombucha sorbet.
The launch of this new afternoon tea experience was held on 21 May, the same day as HOPES art exhibition. Following the success of the Alila Seminyak and Kita Art Friends collaboration, the second art exhibition presents the artworks of Indonesian visual artists to demonstrate how to share hope and move forward in these challenging times and will run until 20 June.
