The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta brought their finest culinary talents to craft a special feast celebrating the Independence Day of Indonesia.
On August 17, to commemorate Indonesia’s Independence Day, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali invites discerning diners to the resort’s al fresco dining area overlooking the pool and Nusa Dua beach to enjoy the Rasa Nusantara event. The evening saw an exclusive collaboration between the resort’s Chef Matthias Mittnacht and a special guest Executive Chef Ferdian Tobing from The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta.
The special dining event served a delectable five-course dinner, highlighting modern interpretation on the country’s traditional flavours. Chef Tobing showcased his creations in three of the courses, while Chef Mittnacht presented two of the courses and also the dessert.
Indonesian comfort food such as mie ayam jamur or udang bumbu Bali were presented with a modern and inspired twist. The Hokkaido scallop on Bedugul basil risotto and wagyu short rib semur were also stellar. Wrapping up the evening was the decadent dessert, courtesy of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali’s Executive Pastry Chef Jason Licker, comprising Bali coffee mousse, served with passionfruit, chocolate and coconut.
“There is no question that Indonesia’s Independence Day holds a unique and important significance for each and every one of Indonesia’s citizens.
