Grilled with a green curry paste and pepped up with kaffir lime rice and a selection of piquant pickles (fifteen to be exact), the Mahi Mahi at Alila Villas Ulwatu’s CIRE restaurant is a force to be reckoned with. The variety of flavours on the plate is truly remarkable thanks to the spectrum of pickled local ingredients that are marinated with different herbs and spices. To name just a few, the pickled bites include salak, fennel, radish, shallot, pineapple, carrot, pumpkin, bengkoang and zucchini, which are then paired to the super fresh mahi mahi that is sourced from the local market.
