Ciputra World Surabaya Hotel is tempting the palates of its diners with a tempting array of dishes reproduced and reimagined by Chef Indra Herawan and his team. The Southeast Asian Food Festival at The Gallery Restaurant is offering favourites from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as some intriguing creations.

Chef Indra has taken the world-renowned rendang, a Sumatran beef curry, and serves this spicy meat combined with fresh green salad leaves and other salad ingredients for a fresh taste. Meanwhile, his take on Shrimp Laksa sees this traditional soup turned into a thick sauce that is spooned over rice noodles and adorned with shrimp, basil and cilantro leaves and a few bean sprouts.

A creative touch has also been brought to play with the Mango Sticky Rice, which in Chef Indra’s hands now sports white, blue and red rice, which are not only the colours of the Thai flag, but also offer different flavours and textures for added enjoyment.

The Southeast Asian Food Festival at The Gallery Restaurant is running through August and September. The restaurant boasts sweeping views across the city of Surabaya, modern, artistic décor with bold coloured accents, distinctive artworks and comfortable seating.
