Executive chef Nic Philip of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is teaming up with award-winning British chef Ben Spalding for a night to remember both in the kitchen and on the dance floor.
A year after cementing its place as a fitting lifestyle destination for Seminyak, SugarSand is flying out chef Ben Spalding from London to team up with executive chef Nic Philip for an amazing dinner collaboration.
On 13 September, the chefs will collaborate and create an exciting dinner and dance with 12 dishes over a 4-course barbeque feast. The dinner will be served family-style, with everything shared along the middle, elevated with cocktail pairing. Not only rocking the kitchen, but chef Ben will also heat up the dance floor with his first-ever DJ performance in Bali.
The London-based chef brings over fifteen years of hard-earned expertise in the hospitality industry to his role having honed his skills at some of the world’s fine Michelin-starred restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Per Se, Fat Duck and more. With music as his other life passion, he created PuzzleProjects — a fresh take on hospitality consultancy that offers curated music events alongside food.
For this dinner, the chefs are taking inspiration from the Japanese izakaya culinary concept where a meal is shared among diners. The cocktail pairings, meanwhile, will see SugarSand’s mixologist partnering with Bali’s most happening speakeasy, 40 Thieves, to concoct inspired cocktails highlighting locally sourced, homemade ingredients.
The dinner is priced at IDR800,000 net per person for a 4-course barbeque menu and IDR1,200,000 net per person with cocktail pairing. Advanced booking is highly recommended as seats are limited.
