Director of Public Relations at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Wiwin’s job as Director of PR and his sociable personality have always made his life dynamic and colourful. Having to stay at home has changed many things, but he takes a positive approach to get on with his life.

Q: How has the stay-at-home situation changed your daily life?

A: The situation has really changed my life. In a way, I’ve become very self-conscious about health and hygiene. I’ve come to see that we took physical socialising with family, friends and colleagues for granted, and it actually held a very important role in our lives that we didn’t appreciate until it was taken away from us. I miss my family, I miss my friends.

Q: What activities do you like to do now that you have to stay at home more?

A: Lots of video calls every day to keep me sane. Working out every other day and doing some marketing webinars to update myself about the world after Covid-19.

Q: Please share your tips on what to do to stay positive at home?

A: Wake up in the morning feeling grateful that we are still alive and healthy. Create a daily routine, for example after you wake up, make the bed, take a shower with cold water to jump start the day, and so on. Just do any daily activity that you love, like cooking, video call your parents or friends. I try to think in a positive way, like somehow the world wants all of us to rest, so now we can rest and reflect what we can do better after Covid-19.

Q: Do you have any tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A: Try to work out every day or every other day and eat healthy, even though it is hard to do this as most social media content has tutorials on making good food and people selling yummy cuisine during this quarantine period.

Q: Since you have to stay at home more, what do you miss most from normal life?

A: I miss socialising with people and also my daily routine at the office.

Q: What is the first country you want to visit after the quarantine is over and why?

A: I would say Thailand, Bangkok to be specific! It is close by and I miss Thai food. The next country will be Japan. I would love to go back to Hokkaido.
