Soichiro Celebrates Two Years of Culinary Excellence

Celebrating its second anniversary, Soichiro Irori Style Japanese Steak House reflects on two years of culinary focus and innovation. Recently named one of the Top 3 in Exquisite’s Best Restaurants & Bars 2025, the restaurant marks the occasion with the launch of its newest tasting concept, Meatsuri.

Tucked within Jakarta’s SCBD area, Soichiro Irori Style Japanese Steak House marks its second anniversary with quiet confidence and bold flavour. Known for introducing Indonesia to the traditional Irori cooking method, the restaurant has become a standout for those seeking a more thoughtful take on Japanese steak. This year, its consistent dedication has also been recognised with a place among the Top 3 in Exquisite’s Best Restaurants & Bars 2025.

Since opening in 2023, Soichiro has built a reputation on precision, respect for technique and a menu that speaks to both heritage and curiosity. At the core of its kitchen is the Irori method, an open-fire cooking style rarely seen outside Japan. Led by Executive Chef Soichiro Hieda, the team has blended this age-old approach with seasonal ingredients, Halal-certified produce and quiet creativity. The result is a dining experience that feels rooted yet forward-looking.

To celebrate the anniversary, Soichiro introduces Meatsuri, a five-part presentation inspired by Matsuri, the Japanese word for festival. It’s a concept that transforms the idea of a meat tasting into something playful yet precise. Highlights include the A5 Black Truffle Hire, rubbed with house-blended truffle powder; the A5 Matcha Misuji, which brings an earthy lift with premium green tea; and the Spicy Diamond Misuji, full of heat and balance. The Miyazaki-Gyu Nigiri adds a sushi-style element, while the final course, Yakitama A5 with onsen egg, pays tribute to the chef’s own favourite flavours.

Soichiro’s recognition as one of the top three restaurants in Exquisite’s annual awards is a meaningful milestone. It reflects the restaurant’s steady climb in Jakarta’s dining scene, built not on spectacle, but on focus and care. The anniversary celebration, like the restaurant itself, avoids flashiness in favour of substance.

Two years in, Soichiro continues to evolve without forgetting where it started. Through fire, flavour and the rhythm of thoughtful cooking, it invites guests to experience Japanese cuisine in a way that feels both rare and quietly memorable.
