Ibizan star Café del Mar is ready to spread its wings by opening up a new playground on the Island of the Gods.
Founded in 1980 in Sant Antoni de Portmany on the Spanish island of Ibiza, Café del Mar has blossomed into one of the world’s most renowned entertainment venues. Providing good music with a good ambience, the group is excitedly bringing this same spirit to the island of Bali.
Scheduled to open in August this year, Café del Mar Bali will sit on the beachfront area of Canggu. Just like the original, the space will treat guests to the best food and drinks just steps from the ocean. There will be bountiful creative cocktails at the venue’s many bars, alongside a Mediterranean-inspired menu which will be interwoven with local Indonesian favourites. The stylish restaurant will open for lunch to give guests the chance to dine and linger until Bali’s famed sunset and guests will be able to enjoy the night drinking, dining and dancing away under the stars.
Revellers are eagerly awaiting the high-quality music to be played at this venue. Café del Mar is undoubtedly the world’s leading Chill House music label and the birthplace of one of the longest-running and most successful compilation series in history.
Café del Mar Bali occupies a palatial white building inspired by the original architecture of Café del Mar Ibiza. Designed by architect Rafael Pasaribu, from the up-and-coming Indonesian firm Aboday Architects, the impressive venue will include a large pool, private VIP cabanas, a luxury restaurant, all-day casual dining and a selection of different bars. Considering its reputation for outstanding live music, the Bali branch will also integrate world-class staging that caters to outdoor music events set to take place regularly.
