The Arrival of The Smallest Chef in The World

The Arrival of The Smallest Chef in The World

For the first time in Bali, Le Petit Chef is making his debut appearance at Grand Hyatt Bali.

Le Petit Chef, the world’s smallest chef at only 58mm tall, has become known around the world for serving up fascinating interactive dining experiences. Le Petit Chef comes to life with 3D projection mapping technology developed by Belgian-based company Skullmapping, with which he delivers an animated story onto diners’ plates. With the help of overhead projectors, the dining table transforms into an immersive theatre where the tablecloth, plates and utensils become backdrops and props for the story’s hero to show off his culinary prowess as he ‘cooks’ their food in front of them.

Since his creation in 2015, Le Petit Chef has become a viral sensation in restaurants around the world, from London to Singapore, Dubai to Kuala Lumpur and now in Bali, hosted by Grzegorz Odolak, the culinary director of Grand Hyatt Bali.

From 30 April to 31 October, the smallest chef on earth will combine cinema, theatre and culinary creations in the Klungkung Room, an exclusive private dining area at Grand Hyatt Bali, accommodating up to 20 guests per seating. One Le Petit Chef Classic dinner session is available on Wednesdays to Fridays, while two Le Grand Chef dining sessions are on offer on Saturdays and Sundays. The Le Junior Chef menu is available from Wednesday to Sunday.

Guests will be able to enjoy the five-course dinner with three different menus to choose from: Le Petit Chef Classic menu for IDR795,000 net per person, Le Grand Chef menu for IDR950,000 net per person, and Le Junior Chef menu for IDR 350,000 net. The experience, which has been making the rounds on social media, hasn’t disappointed diners. While taking photographs is encouraged during dinner, you might just want to sit back and enjoy the show.
