Reviving the art of Bali’s indigenous cuisine with Dapur Bali Mula.

Celebrating Indonesia’s upcoming Independence Day, The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali invites you to experience the indigenous flavours of north Bali’s regional cuisine. The one-night only event will be held on Friday, 20 August at the resort’s signature authentic Indonesian restaurant, Tabia. Chef Mangku Gede Yudiawan from Dapur Bali Mula, Les village, Buleleng will take over the restaurant for this special evening.

Chef Yudiawan is known for his passion in preserving the food of Bali Mula, the indigenous cuisine of Bali. Since moving back to his village five years ago, he has been working to revitalize the indigenous cooking methods, spices and ingredients of north Bali. For the event, he will bring freshly caught seafood and locally grown and produced ingredients from Les village. Armed with traditional herbs and spices such as tabia bun, sea salt and juruh, or palm sugar, Yudiawan will tantalise guests’ taste buds with not just nourishing seafood but precious tales of the Balinese kitchen, traditional recipes and the secrets of the spices.

The dinner will start at 6.30pm and is priced at IDR180,000++ per person for the seafood ngiu platter. Enjoy a range of delicious dishes, including lawar gurita, lawar don tabia bun, sate lilit, serapah gurita, cumi suna cekuh, pepes ikan, tuna plalah and more.
