When a Michelin-starred legend joins forces with one of Jakarta’s most promising chefs, expect more than just good food, this is Cantonese dining elevated, redefined and full of surprises.

From 22 to 25 May 2025, The Langham, Jakarta invites guests to something far beyond the ordinary, a rare culinary collaboration bringing together two of the most respected names in Cantonese cuisine: T’ang Court Jakarta and Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Ming Court.
At the heart of this collaboration is Chef Tsang Chiu King, a culinary veteran whose influence has spanned continents. With more than five decades of experience, his work has taken him from the alpine kitchens of Switzerland to the lively food scenes of mainland China and Australia. Now, he joins T’ang Court’s Executive Chinese Chef Chong Kooi Sam for an exclusive four-day experience that celebrates Cantonese tradition through a contemporary lens.
This is more than a pop-up. As a mentor in The Langham’s Chinese Star Chef Academy, Chef King plays a key role in shaping emerging talent across the brand’s restaurants. Chef Sam is one of many promising chefs shaped by this initiative, and the event reflects not only a moment of collaboration but of mentorship in action.
As for the menu, it’s a confident mix of elegance and surprise. Priced from IDR2,088,000++ per person, the evening begins with shredded duck spring rolls paired with frozen foie gras. From there, diners can expect wok-fried lobster infused with whisky and preserved radish, followed by marinated beef short ribs given new life with black truffle and honey. Each plate strikes a balance, offering complexity without being showy and honouring tradition without playing it safe.
With limited seating and dishes backed by a Michelin-starred pedigree, this dining event is quietly becoming one of the most anticipated in Jakarta’s culinary calendar.
