Coveted chefs work together to help a village in need.
Culinary connoisseurs who want to enjoy delectable cuisine with a cause should not miss the charity dinner at W Bali – Seminyak on 11 January 2020. The event is a collaborative event between W Bali – Seminyak, Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) International and Chef Chris Salans from Mozaic Restaurant and Spice by Chris Salans’ fame.
SOS, also known as Yayasan Derma Atas Pangan, is known for collecting surplus food around Bali from hotels like W Bali – Seminyak, suppliers, bakeries and many other commercial outlets over the last two and half years and counting, to feed 14 orphanages, four foundations and five villages.
With this dining event, SOS is raising funds for Ban, an isolated village in east Bali with a high rate of malnourishment and no access to clean water, schooling or health care. All the proceeds from the dinner will be used to purchase customised food transport vehicles, employ staff, buy necessary storage equipment and assist the people of Ban.
The stellar line-up for the evening comprises Michelin-starred chef Jacques Pourcel, Dutch Celebrity Master Chef Alain Caron, W Bali – Seminyak’s own Director of Culinary and Chef Beryl Adler, and the aforementioned Celebrity Master Chef Chris Salans himself. The team will work together to create an exclusive four-course dinner – one dish per chef – that will be paired with wine. In the spirit of doing good, the chefs have also committed to a zero-waste approach to the event, where no food is wasted in the preparation.
Tickets are limited, so book your seat now at loket.com/event/cooking-for-a-cause_SjD.
