Cucumber Day’s Celebration with HENDRICK’S GIN

Cucumber Day’s Celebration with HENDRICK’S GIN

On 14 June 2024, during World Cucumber Day, Hendrick’s Gin introduced a delightful twist: cucumbers as currency. Gin lovers could trade their cucumbers for a refreshing Hendrick’s & Tonic at selected Hendrick’s Gin official outlets, where they could also partake in the exclusive Cucumber Concierge and DIY Cocktail Corner experiences.

Collaborating with 150 stores in Jakarta, Bali, Semarang, Surabaya and Bandung, these establishments were decorated with the distinctive style of Hendrick’s Gin, showcasing interactive features such as the DIY Cocktail Corner. These venues included prime locations such as Artesian Bar at The Langham, Jakarta and FINNS Beach Club in Canggu, Bali.

Additionally, if customers forgot to bring their own cucumbers, these locations had a Cucumber Concierge on hand so that everyone could fully enjoy this wonderful day of green fruit.

Out of the event, a fascinating discovery also came to light. Scientists from Hendrick’s Gin, in collaboration with cucumber expert Graham Brown from the University of Sydney, Australia, discovered that cucumbers can grow larger and fresher with unconventional care. They learned that cucumbers grow best in places with rock music and dill scents, and that they taste even better when wrapped in tiny sleeping bags.
