Not to be missed are the Indonesian dishes, a preview of the country’s rich and flavourful gastronomy. Popular Indonesian comfort food nasi goreng is enhanced with wagyu beef, while the soto ayam is truly food for the soul. The mie goreng Jawa and Lombok-style ikan bakar sambal plecing are more than worth tasting.
The dessert section showcases delightful delicacies for the sweet-toothed, from western creations to local favourites. Apurva’s tiramisu is made using local luwak coffee, while the es teler, dadar gulung and pisang goreng are reminiscent of homemade snacks in Indonesian homes.
When it nears the golden sunset hour, head to the second floor of Pala for the rooftop bar. The bar and lounge provide an elevated vantage point from which to enjoy the divine ocean view and to really bask in an unrivalled atmosphere.
