Kwee Zeen at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort welcomes the Lunar New Year with Flavours of Prosperity, inviting celebrants to a sumptuous Chinese buffet.
The turn of the Gregorian calendar year means one thing: the moon’s cycle is soon to follow suit, bringing along the spring festivities of the Lunar New Year. Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is celebrating this at Kwee Zeen, its Pan-Asian restaurant, with a special Flavours of Prosperity buffet on 16 February 2026.
Bringing the evening to life are performances that pay homage to the Middle Kingdom, infusing the dinner with the nation’s cultural richness. The familiar bass thrums of large barrel-shaped drums, rhythmic clangings of brass cymbals, and echoing booms of Chinese gongs herald the thrall of a lion dance, colloquially known as the barongsai, to symbolise good fortune and prosperity. Meanwhile, a charming fortune teller is set to spruce up the experience with a dash of mysticism to ring in the upcoming Year of the Horse.
Anchoring the Flavours of Prosperity is Kwee Zeen’s spread of Chinese-inspired delicacies, from humble treats one might find in a celebrant’s home to sumptuous centrepieces of lavish banquets. From the glazed sheen of roasted pork, the vibrant crackle of Peking duck, and char-smoked aromas of char siu to the delicate flakiness of steamed fish and dainty bites of dim sum, every dish is made as a token of offering, a representation of the hopeful outlook towards auspicious times ahead, and a reason to gather around the table with closest kin.
As an additional treat, Sofitel SPA opens its doors for some winding down post-festivities with curated wellness treatments on 17-18 February. At the Gazebo, a two-hour shiatsu massage awaits, ready to untangle knots in one’s muscles, while the Gong Xi Fa Cai package offers a more holistic approach with the inclusion of a sauna session, reflexology, and facial treatments.
