Chef Akira Back, born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Aspen, USA, developed a passion for the restaurant industry while working in a Japanese restaurant for seven years in Rocky Mountain at the age of 15. His culinary journey led him to “The Art Institute” in Colorado, where he honed his international culinary education. Chef Akira Back opened his first AkiraBack Steak in Los Angeles, USA, introducing the concept of Modern Korean BBQ Steakhouse. Currently, his restaurants span across various cities worldwide, showcasing his culinary prowess. Notably, Chef Akira Back achieved a Michelin Star in 2017 for DOSA, Seoul, and was listed in the Michelin Guide in 2019 for Akira Back in Singapore.
AkiraBack Bar, known as ABar, debuted in Bangkok, and the second ABar emerged in Jakarta. ABSteak and ABar in Jakarta represent the largest outlet among all Akira Back outlets globally, merging both brands.
