The finest modern grand hotel in London, Hotel Café Royal, is launching a new dining destination this May led by highly respected French-born chef Laurent Tourondel. Blending Tourondel’s culinary philosophy with the hotel’s aim of providing a home away from home, the new restaurant will see a new concept unlike anything the chef has done before.
Located on the first floor of Hotel Café Royal, the striking yet sympathetic design is by modern Italian architect/designer Piero Lissoni. Expect an open kitchen, grill and sushi bar, while the booth seating and magnificent lighting by Lissoni present a sophisticated, informal venue offering an unrivalled dining ambience and experience.
As part of The Set Hotels group, the new restaurant at Hotel Café Royal adds to the group’s new openings, including the iconic Lutetia hotel in Paris. In true fashion, the group continues its vision to restore iconic, historical buildings and create destinations authentic to their locations.
Chef Tourondel himself honed his skills in France before moving to London. He has opened restaurants in large cities in the USA, like New York and Miami, in addition to owning restaurants in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and the Caribbean. Tourondel’s appointment at Hotel Café Royal continues the hotel’s previous residencies by renowned chefs like Albert Adria, the Roca brothers, Paco Roncero and more.
