Indulge in a New Afternoon Tea Experience at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali

A new afternoon tea with award-winning creations is now available at the five-star resort.

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is elevating the afternoon tea experience with an exclusive collaboration this August, featuring the talents of celebrated Pastry Chef Vinesh Johny, co-founder of Lavonne Academy of Baking Science & Pastry Arts in India. Known for his innovative approach and remarkable contributions to the pastry arts, Chef Vinesh has crafted a selection of exquisite desserts that will be showcased at The Lobby Bar & Lounge, promising to delight guests with a perfect blend of tradition and modern flair.

Hailing from Bangalore, Chef Vinesh Johny has transformed the dessert culture in India through his pioneering work. His expertise has also been influential across Marriott Hotels in South India, where he has conducted training workshops and kitchen takeovers, further solidifying his reputation as a culinary innovator. With accolades like being featured in Forbes “Asia 30 Under 30” and CNN India’s “20 Under 40,” Chef Vinesh’s collaboration with The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, is highly anticipated.

Starting 10 August, The Lobby Bar & Lounge will feature a delectable selection of desserts that Chef Vinesh and resort pastry chef Michael Leuwol have created. Available from 11am to 6pm, the afternoon tea menu offers two distinct options, each priced at IDR 250,000++ or redeemable with 3,049 Marriott Bonvoy points. Guests can choose between traditional sandwiches like prawn with marie rose sauce and chives on melba toast, and salmon gravlax with herbed cream cheese on pumpernickel bread, or opt for a vegetarian selection featuring beetroot ravioli with whipped goat cheese and Lombok brie cheese with mango chilli salsa in a basil basket.

The desserts are made with the best ingredients from Cacao Barry, a brand that is well-known for its premium chocolate and rich French pastry heritage. They include the Smoothie Bowl Tart, which is a yoghurt custard tart topped with banana, blueberry, strawberry, honey Chantilly and nutty oat nougatine; the Chocolate Hazelnut Rocher, which are choux buns filled with milk chocolate hazelnut cream, nutty praline and chocolate cacao nib streusel. Guests can also savour the Balinese Coffee Macarons, featuring a Balinese coffee ganache and cherry pate fruit, as well as freshly baked scones served with cheddar cheese, black pepper, candied orange, pine nut, honey, clotted cream and spiced citrus marmalade.
