Iris and Wild Iris Brings the French Riviera to SO/ Bangkok

SO/ Bangkok offers a glimpse of the French Riviera to the heart of the Thai capital as Iris and Wild Iris, the hotel’s latest rooftop bar and restaurant, open their doors to the city’s urbanites and travelling visitors.

The café-lined streets of the French Riviera have long been synonymous with effortless chic, where a warm and laidback atmosphere meets the modern appeal of a luxurious lifestyle. This serves as the blueprint for the two new dining destinations at SO/ Bangkok, bringing the retro European aesthetics to the stylish Thai capital with its new rooftop bar and restaurant, Iris and Wild Iris.

Sitting on the 29th and 30th floors, Iris charms diners with an elegant setup of high ceilings, flowing geometric lines, and woven furnishings that harken back to the elegant eateries scattered along the Provençal coastline. Art Deco-style windows lend their contemporary sensibilities to the space, becoming the transitional linchpin between the classical interiors and the modern city skyline outside.

The food equally reflects the restaurant’s westward musings, drawing from the culinary landscape of Southern Europe to build a menu inspired by French, Italian, and Spanish cuisines. Dishes like Iris Lasagna attest to a reverence for traditionality, while others, such as Wagyu Steak and Fries, showcase a predilection for refinement and upscaling. Pizzas and shareable plates also pay homage to the culture of sharing food, prompting a dining experience brightened by casual conversations.

There’s no rush to leave once dinner ends, as the convivial spirit invites diners to prolong their stay at the Wild Iris, the conjoining rooftop bar. The White Peacock-inspired design infuses a vibrant energy that steps in tune with the rhythms of the metropolitan it overlooks, supported by live DJ performances that uplift the atmosphere.

Crafty cocktails become the highlight at this outdoor space, offering liquid courage for those who require to dance along to the tunes, or just something to nestle as the evening whiles away. While Italian classics like the Negroni and Aperol Spritz provide a safety net, Wild Iris invites diners to let go of any inhibitions and indulge in one of their signature cocktails. The floral, slightly salty Amara Rosa can be an option, accentuated with a gentle floral flourish from the pink pepper, grapefruit cordial, and beet essence. Meanwhile, the nuttily bittersweet Noir Coast infuses a scotch blend with stout, espresso, chocolate bitters, and banana peel syrup, fusing European tipples and the Thai palate.
