Hong Kong’s cocktail scene was treated to an unforgettable evening as Gokan Hong Kong unveiled The Jakarta Express, a spirited collaboration spotlighting two of Jakarta’s standout mixology talents: Kiki Moka of The Cocktail Club and Ronny Holicka of Modernhaus. For one night only, Ice House Street transformed into a vibrant stage for creativity, flavour, and cross-cultural exchange.
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. The bar buzzed with energy as Kiki and Ronny took their places behind the counter, bringing with them not just technical skill but the unmistakable pulse of Jakarta’s fast-rising cocktail scene.
Kiki’s signature cocktails quickly emerged as crowd favourites. His Beet & Elderflower delivered an earthy yet elegant balance, while Cha Guavara charmed with its bright, tropical freshness. Aguamiel Verde, layered with herbaceous notes, completed the trio, underscoring his talent for creating drinks that are playful yet polished.
Ronny matched the momentum with his bold, inventive approach to flavour. His Tomato and Kenanga cocktail offered a refreshing floral complexity, while the Amaretto Sour 2.0, a contemporary reimagining of a classic, proved an instant hit, marrying nostalgia with modern finesse.
For those lucky enough to attend, it was a night of discovery and connection, lingering in memory long after the last glass was emptied.
