Acclaimed bar veterans Agung and Laura Prabowo, the Indonesian masterminds behind the renowned Penicillin in Hong Kong, have created another mixology masterpiece in LOCKDOWN. LOCKDOWN aims to redefine Hong Kong’s cocktail culture, inspired by the city’s prolonged lockdown during the peak of the pandemic. The bar pays homage to Hong Kong’s extended lockdown, drawing parallels to the United States’ Prohibition Era from 1920 to 1933. 

This innovative bar concept merges the artistry of classic cocktails with cutting-edge technology and contemporary trends in mixology. Patrons can expect a menu that reimagines timeless cocktails using advanced tools such as masticators, liquid nitrogen, rotary evaporators and paco jets.

Designed to accommodate just 30 guests, LOCKDOWN offers an intimate setting where Prohibition-era elegance meets modern Asian flair. The bar’s unique rotating station, designed by Agung, adds a distinctive touch to the venue. The cocktail menu features approximately 25 handcrafted drinks categorised into Experimental, Vintage and Remastered Classics. The food menu, influenced by indigenous Asian culinary techniques, is designed for sharing.

LOCKDOWN is located directly across from Penicillin. The entrance, subtly marked next to a toilet sign, adds an element of intrigue, reflecting the hidden nature of the bar and symbolising the challenges faced during the pandemic.
