Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomic Ubud Brings Heritage to Life

Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomic Ubud marks the Ubud Food Festival’s 10th year with a vibrant series of events celebrating tradition, innovation and collaboration. From standout pastry pop-ups to a star-studded six-hands dinner, the weekend promises bold flavours and fresh perspectives.

In Ubud, where food and culture hold equal sway, Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomic Ubud is set to mark a special chapter during this year’s Ubud Food Festival, from 30 May to 1 June 2025. Celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary under the theme of “Heritage,” Mozaic will host a series of events that pay tribute to Indonesia’s culinary roots while engaging with forward-thinking global talent.

The experience begins on Friday at Mozaic’s Tipple Room with something sweet and unexpected. Gareth Whitton, co-founder of Melbourne’s much-loved Tarts Anon and a guest judge on MasterChef Australia 2022, brings his signature flair to Bali in a pastry pop-up from 1 to 4 p.m. For those eager to see the precision behind the plate, an exclusive pastry masterclass will take place earlier in the day. Priced at IDR388,000++ per person, this intimate session invites guests into the craft of modern patisserie alongside Whitton and Mozaic’s culinary team.

As the weekend unfolds, Saturday brings a highlight dinner at The Dining Room, where three chefs—Blake Thornley of Mozaic, Gareth Whitton, and Christian Martena of CLARA Bangkok—join forces for a six-hands collaboration. With Martena’s modern Italian influences, Thornley’s progressive interpretations of local ingredients, and Whitton’s pastry finesse, the evening promises thoughtful dishes that reflect diverse culinary backgrounds. The dinner is priced at IDR1,700,000++ per person.

The weekend closes on Sunday with a refreshing shift in focus. At 2 p.m., award-winning mixologist Bili Wirawan hosts a cocktail masterclass at Spice by Blake. Drawing on years of experience behind the bar at Four Seasons Jimbaran and The St. Regis Aspen, Bili shares his take on blending creativity with technique. The session is priced at IDR300,000++.

Through this programme, Mozaic reaffirms its place at the intersection of heritage and innovation, supporting Ubud Food Festival’s ongoing mission to connect Indonesia’s culinary identity with the global stage.
