Perched above St. Moritz at the Suvretta mountain station, Bergrestaurant Trutz is a timeless alpine classic. Easily accessible on foot and located directly along the Suvretta slope, the restaurant rewards guests with sweeping panoramic views over the cinematic lakeside landscape of the Upper Engadine.
From 9am to 4pm, the hut welcomes skiers, hikers and leisurely wanderers alike. Outside, a spacious sun-drenched terrace invites guests to linger over lunch with uninterrupted mountain vistas. Inside, the atmosphere shifts to something warmly traditional: wood-lined interiors, cosy corners, and the comforting scent of home-style cooking create a quintessential Swiss mountain experience.
For a more upscale experience, look to the neighbouring GaultMillau-awarded Chasellas Restaurant, Trutz keeps things cosy with hearty home-style cooking and regional favourites. Local specialities that they offer include a generous Grisons plate, Salsiz prepared farmer’s style, Rösti hunter’s style, and Swiss farmer’s veal sausage. Pasta plates and smaller snacks round out the savoury selection, and for those with a sweet tooth, Meringue Chantilly and apple strudel served with homemade vanilla sauce offer a comforting alpine finish.
Adding to its unique appeal, the mountain station of the Suvretta Randolins ski lift sits right beside the hut, and can even be switched on privately for special occasions. Turning a simple lunch into an unforgettable alpine event, Bergrestaurant Trutz is scheduled to remain open daily until April 6, reopening for summer on July 3, 2026, and continuing through the golden hues of autumn until October 18.
