Poised to become the hottest new opening of 2013, Catalunya Hong Kong is cooking up exquisite, authentic Spanish cuisine, headed up by a team of 20 culinary experts from Spain’s finest Michelin three-starred restaurants, including elBulli, El Celler de Can Roca, Mugaritz, Arzak, and Restaurante Martín Berasategui.
Following the runaway success of the original Catalunya Singapore, appetites for the sizzling Spanish restaurant were satisfied as soon as the doors opened in March. Delivering a distinctively novel culinary experience, diners are enjoying a comprehensive menu curated to reflect the interesting marriage of contemporary and traditional Spanish cuisine.
Helming the kitchen is Group Executive Chef, Mr Alain Devahive Tolosa. The Barcelona-born chef has honed his craft at the famed elBulli, La Regalade and La Broche, and believes that the secret to enticing and surprising diners is a combination of genuine passion, an open mind and a hefty dose of creativity. Look out for Signature dishes such as the Cod Esqueixada and the Roasted Suckling Pig with Lemon Puree, and all-time favourites such as Spanish Bombas and Truffle Bikini.
Joining him on his quest will be award-winning Mixologist, Dario Nocentini, inventing one-of-a-kind cocktails concocted with high quality spirits using contemporary techniques. With years of extensive international experience in Italy, London, Spain, and Singapore, Dario has won numerous national cocktail competitions representing Spain worldwide. A comprehensive wine list comprising some of Spain’s most indulgent grapes is also available.
Located in the Morrison Hill area of Wanchai, the 5,000 sq. ft. restaurant and 2,500 sq. ft. bar and lounge features a chic interior from award-winning design firm, AvroKo of New York. The restaurant’s design resembles a contemporary Catalan oasis, with a subtle touch of the theatrical. The marriage of Catalan fare with a fantastic selection of Spanish wines, Mediterranean hospitality, and cutting-edge cocktails served up in a stylish and exciting setting makes this Spanish eatery one to keep your eye on.
