A favourite with many, ice cream is the go-to treat for cooling yourself down on a hot sunny day. With so many different flavours and styles, ice cream will never let you down; it’s easy to enjoy and serves its purpose every time.
Exclusively this summer, Hotel Café Royal is introducing new desserts created by the world’s best pastry chef, Albert Adrià, at his dessert-only restaurant, Cakes & Bubbles. Voted The World’s Best Pastry Chef in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, chef Adrià is the mastermind behind Michelin-starred restaurant elBulli in Spain.
His new creations are just in time for the annual Summer Streets events. Every summer, Regent Street will be traffic-free for everyone to enjoy fun in the sun. In collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, the pop-up dessert bar will provide the best refreshments on 21 July, 18 August and 15 September 2019.
This year get the chance to taste chef Adrià’s new mouth-watering mango sorbet and a brand-new chocolate ice cream. These dishes are made using the best ingredients, only available seasonally. For the chocolate ice cream, he uses dark chocolate made from Chuncho cacao, an incredibly rare tree grown in Peru’s Cusco valley. While the mango sorbet is made only using the sweetest Indian Alphonso mangoes, which make it a great dairy-free option.
The restaurant is also adding a new ice cream sandwich made up of stroopwaffle caramel wafers filled with speculoos ice cream and sticky toffee sauce.
