The Dharmawangsa Jakarta recently announced the appointment of Felix Budisetiawan as its new Executive Chef. The role will see Chef Felix overseeing all of the hotel’s culinary operations including the restaurants and lounges, hotel banqueting and Bimasena Club.
With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and culinary industry, Chef Felix Budisetiawan has mastered the world of commercial cookery, where he utilized his talents and skills to organize the big picture within various hotel and restaurant chains throughout Asia and the US. His expertise encompasses the gastronomic arts of traditional and modern Indonesian, as well as French, cooking styles with simple yet flavoursome and mouthwatering cuisines.
The Bali-born chef got to know the fine culinary world by overseeing the family business when he was relatively young. After attending the Culinary and Hospitality School in Bali, the prolific chef went on to join Hyatt Regency Surabaya, followed by a number of other respected hotels in the Starwood and Marriott network.
Chef Felix Budisetiawan is also known to be a highly creative figure, who is passionate about Indonesian culinary values and is keen to explore the vast fusion possibilities with his international cooking knowledge. Drawing inspiration from this passion, Chef Felix continues to dish out iconic progressive dishes, such as the contemporarily presented Palembang Malbi beef, and an amuse bouche of modernized beef jerky with sticky rice served on the side of spices and chillies.
