Tom Aikens introduces a refreshed menu at Tom’s by Tom Aikens, celebrating British classics with bold flavours and premium ingredients.

What’s more exciting than a fresh new menu? Recently, Michelin-starred Chef Tom Aikens introduced an updated selection at Tom’s by Tom Aikens, bringing his signature take on British classics to The Langham, Jakarta. Known for his dedication to homemade recipes and quality ingredients, the refreshed menu reflects his deep-rooted passion for British-European cuisine, balancing tradition with contemporary flair.

The new offerings arrive at a significant moment for the acclaimed chef. Recently named Chef of the Year at The Staff Canteen Awards 2024 and previously recognised as AA Chefs’ Chef of the Year, Tom Aikens continues to shape the global culinary landscape. Having earned two Michelin stars at just 26, he remains one of Britain’s most celebrated chefs, renowned for his innovation and commitment to seasonal, sustainable produce.

The updated menu shines a spotlight on bold flavours and expertly executed meat dishes. Tom Aikens’ expertise in meat cookery is evident in the selection, highlighting premium cuts sourced from renowned regions. Each dish captures the essence of comforting British favourites, reinterpreted with thoughtful details and impeccable technique.

Among the standout dishes, the curried scallops pair pickled and curried cauliflower with a punchy curry vinaigrette, while the Welsh Rarebit reinvents the classic with curried crab and grilled cheese on toast. Mains bring a mix of hearty choices, from the 24-hour slow-cooked beef ribs in a treacle and Marmite marinade to the Smithfield bone marrow pie, which layers slow-cooked beef rib with rich red wine sauce under crisp puff pastry.

The classic eton mess delivers a familiar mix of crispy meringue, strawberries, and raspberry coulis for a sweet finish. At the same time, Tom’s apple crumble offers a warming blend of stewed apples, brown sugar and toasted almond ice cream.
