The new chef helms the resort’s authentic casual Italian restaurant Prego.

Born and raised in Turin, Piedmont in the northern part of Italy, Salvatore Catania has honed his passion for the culinary world from early on, inspired by his family traditional recipes. Later in life, he would travel to the southern part of Italy to unveil more of his family heritage and enhance his knowledge of the region’s culinary delicacies.

Salvatore’s journey in professional kitchens started in 2012 at Aquila Nera Restaurant in Ivrea, Italy. His passion has taken him around the world since then, including to the Vaiano Bros Factory to learn cheese making; Sabella’s Italian fine dining in Ajman, United Arab Emirates; Italian restaurant Vero in Thailand as junior sous chef; and Italian restaurant La Tavola at Renaissance Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
