At the eclectic Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach there is a haven of indulgence offering head-to-toe pampering and age-old rituals that soothe mind, body and spirit. Enter Sava Spa and enter a realm of wellbeing and calm.

Sava Spa’s rich decor presents a wonderful opportunity to distract the mind with its apothecary style panels offering glimpses of jewel colours, tempting indulgences and quirky knick-knacks. There are intricate patterns to fascinate your eyes and quiet nooks to sit and listen to the trickle of water while gently swinging back and forth as your mind runs free. It’s a world of alluring scents and the promise of a truly indulgent time where you and your wellbeing are the sole focus.

Inspired by the spa’s locale and Asian traditions, the spa menu here offers head-to-toe signature journeys that make the most of modern holistic healing therapies and ancient practices, using the purest natural and locally sourced active ingredients. Island-grown herbs, Balinese rice, fresh sea salt, seaweed, aloe vera, jasmine and rose are incorporated into these luscious pampering and restorative sessions, along with other prime products.

The aromatic body scrubs, which can be taken on their own or as part of a signature journey, use local rice, which in Bali is deemed a gift from the gods, to gently remove dead cells and nourish the skin, leaving it satin-smooth, glowing and supple. A rich mixture of local herbs and spices, meanwhile, makes up boreh paste, which is used widely in Bali as an exfoliating body mask that improves circulation and eases fever, headaches, muscle aches and arthritis.

Jasmine’s delicate white flowers and gentle fragrance feature in the Journey of Siamese Purity, with an exfoliating scrub to alleviate any dullness followed by a gentle aromatic massage that relaxes muscles and restores the vital flow of energy through the body and ends with a facial treatment using jasmine, water lily, camomile and pomegranate for a toned, soft and dewy complexion.

The treatments start with a refreshing aromatic foot bath in the understated elegance of the treatment rooms and continue with the vibrations of the Tibetan singing bowl that linger in the air as you lie on the bed for your massage therapist to get to work. As the therapist utilises the technique you have chosen from the expansive menu, which includes cold Balinese river stones, Oriental thumb kneading, relaxing Thai massage with palm pressure and stretching for improved lymphatic circulation and the long, firm rhythmic strokes of Balinese massage, you can put your cares behind you and relax.

The rooms are all fitted with spacious, high-quality bathrooms so you can leave the room ready to face the world after, of course, first taking a stop in the relaxation lounge where you can sip on a restorative herbal rice tea and nibble on healthy snacks of fruit, nuts and reviving bites all brought to you in a modern rantang – the traditional stacked food carriers used in Indonesia for centuries.

Whatever your choice of treatment at Sava Spa, you are sure to leave feeling fresh and ready to take on the world.
