One of the most-loved, family friendly resorts in Bali, Padma Resort Legian recently announced the appointment of Lara Frenzel as executive pastry chef. With more than five years of international experience and perfectly honed skills, Lara aims to further enhance the resort’s patisserie team and bring it to the next level with her creative expertise.
Lara’s culinary repertoire includes working for the five-starred Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn, Germany as a sous chef – where she worked her magic with pastries, cakes and chocolates, as well as employee management, as she led cooking classes at the hotel. Lara also cut her teeth at the renowned Michelin-starred Ocean Restaurant in Portugal as the pastry chef de partie, working under the supervision of famed chef Hans Neuner.
“It is such an honour to join the cohesive team at Padma Resort Legian, a perfect place to develop my skills,” said Lara. “And since this is my first time working in Asia, I look forward to exploring a wide range of delightful tropical desserts whilst incorporating my knowledge and experience in pastry.”
Moving to Bali was not a difficult decision for Lara. Her favourite pastimes include reading and catching the waves, very appropriate for the tropical paradise that is Bali. Lara looks forward to contributing to the success of the resort’s culinary service, and guests are certainly looking forward to tasting her creations.
