Explore the wealth of Peruvian gastronomy exclusively brought to you by Peruvian chef Jaime Arbulu from 12 to 26 July at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah.
Celebrating the month of Peruvian independence, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah has prepared a selection of fascinating gourmet moments for guests to enjoy. Helmed by chef Jaime Arbulu, Peruvian Delights will take guests on a series of gastronomic journeys, from a gala dinner and wine pairing dinner to cooking classes and a specially curated Peruvian buffet station at the hotel’s Sugar & Spice.
With more than 15 years under his belt, Jaime has worked as executive chef in luxury hotels across South America, while in 2018, he was crowned the winner of the Chile Chef Sur and Carozzi Cup Tournament. He was also named in the 8 Best Chefs in the country, beating out 2,500 chefs who also participated. Jaime is an acclaimed chef creating dishes from various cuisines while maintaining predominantly Peruvian flavours.
From 12 to 26 July, the food festival offers guests the chance to savour authentic ceviches, a favourite dish among many Peruvian households, as well as the uber-famous Peruvian dessert tres leches. Created by soaking a dense cake in three different milk products, the sweet dish is the perfect milky and moist combination.
On 12 July, guests are invited to enjoy a selection of excellent Peruvian dishes at the gala dinner, while a wine pairing dinner will be held on 19 July at The Studios. For anyone looking to try their skills in Peruvian cuisine, exclusive cooking classes will be led by the chef on 18 and 20 July. The hotel’s all-day dining venue, Sugar & Spice, will also serve Peruvian buffet dishes from 13 to 26 July.
