Makan Place, a newly opened hot spot in Legian, is already bustling with diners despite being open for just a few weeks. The black bamboo structure with its tropical plants and chic green and blue furniture is home to an exciting contemporary menu of Asian and Western comfort foods created by Javanese-born chef Theodorus Immanuel, who has international experience as well as having participated in MasterChef Indonesia. Popular dishes include the 800g Balinese Crackling Pork Knuckle, various salad bowls and desserts such as Roedjak and chocolate panna cotta. The liquid chefs, or bartenders, are devoted to using charcoal in their creations for its health benefits. A must try is the signature Charcoal Affogato. Open daily from 11am to 11pm, Makan Place has raised the bar, providing a new epicurean journey for guests in the Legian area.
