New Tables Jakarta: MANZO Jakarta

Spaghetti El Nero di Seppia

Jakarta is filled with culinary heavyweights, but MANZO Jakarta stands out from the crowd. This restaurant uniquely combines Italian comfort with Japanese precision, creating an unforgettable dining experience. Rooted in a family legacy that dates back to the 1970s, MANZO invites guests to enjoy a blend of childhood memories, masterful craftsmanship and bold innovation.

The restaurant was inspired by Naomi Bongso’s late grandmother’s beloved bistro, Tahiti Cafe, along with a lifelong passion for fusion flavours. The name “MANZO” captures this concept perfectly; Manzo means beef in Italian, while Manzoku reflects the Japanese word for satisfaction. Together, they symbolise the fusion of two cultures in both name and taste.

Led by Chef Dhani, the chef/owner, the kitchen at MANZO delivers a range of mouth-watering dishes. Highlights include woodfire-grilled wagyu MB8/9 ribeye and porterhouse, as well as inventive plates like scallop doria rice and mille-feuille katsu. And when it comes to dessert, skipping it is not an option. The brownie miso caramel parfait brings rich, salty-sweet flavours that are sure to steals the show.
