Situated strategically on the lobby floor of JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, Asuka Japanese Dining focuses on quiet precision and honest flavours. This intimate space takes cues from traditional Japanese homes, offering a calm, understated setting where attention to detail speaks louder than extravagance.

At the heart of the kitchen is Executive Japanese Chef Nishiura Osamu, whose decades of experience influence every dish. He is joined by Chef Akita, who specialises in Edomae-style sushi. Each piece is crafted with methodical skill and deep-rooted respect for tradition.

The menu at Asuka features ingredients flown in from Japan, all selected for their quality and seasonality. Highlights include fresh oysters, the delicate sweetness of Ayu river fish and the distinctive Katsuo Tataki.

For diners who enjoy a surprise, the omakase option allows Chef Osamu to create a meal based on the finest ingredients available that day. Notable dishes include Shirako, known for its creamy texture and Kaisui Uni, celebrated for its naturally rich flavour.

With only 21 seats at the sushi counter, the dining experience is intimate and engaging, providing diners a clear view of the chefs in action. Asuka also offers two private dining rooms, each providing a unique experience: one features modern seating, while the other has traditional floor arrangements. Regardless of the space, the focus remains on the food, the craft and the understated confidence of Japanese cuisine executed to perfection.
