ANJU

ANJU

With a name that translates to food eaten with alcohol in Korean, ANJU is a hidden gem found on the restaurant row that is Tras Street in Tanjong Pagar. Redefining a more elegant Korean cuisine experience, the restaurant is headed by South Korean Head Chef Marco Kim, who previously worked at the two Michelin-starred Jaan. Along with Pastry Chef Doreen Ting, he invites diners to experience Korea’s true soul.

The Organic One & Abalone Pasta

The restaurant is adorned in muted earthy tones, setting a tranquil mood for what’s to come once diners step inside. On the menu, the restaurant has created a harmonious play of contemporary Korean cuisine that pairs exceptionally well with the restaurant’s excellent collection of alcohol. For example, the abalone pasta, one of the signature dishes, has umami notes from the sous vide abalone and pairs well with The Organic One, a refined Korean rice liquor made from 100 percent organic short grain rice. Other must-try dishes are the experimental black bean mascarpone cheese on sourdough and the slow-braised beef short ribs of Galbi Jjim. For a sweet finish, try Chapsal, a Korean donut served with cinnamon milk ice cream and sea salt meringue.
