A visit to Arriba in Ubud is a journey in itself – an exciting one, to be exact. Arriba draws inspiration from the rich culture and flavours of South American regions, from the design and décor to the delectable bites and potent drinks. Picture earthy elements of terracotta pots and bricks, unpolished stones and dark burnt woods combined with unique geometry and silhouettes. Add to that the intimate lighting and appropriately curated playlist, and you have an escapade where you can leave your worries behind and lose track of time.
Staying true to its concept, Arriba highlights South American spirits to create innovatively potent cocktails, while still incorporating Indonesian flavours into the concoctions. Discover a playful lovechild of the classic pina colada and Indonesian favourite snack klepon in the Klepon Colada – made from white rum, homemade coconut mix and pandan brown sugar.
The Diablo Caliente is another brilliant fusion of South American and Indonesian flavours. The renowned El Diablo is amped up with spiced ingredients inspired by the Indonesian hot ginger drink known as wedang jahe – complementing the premium tequila. The Jalapeno Julio Margarita is also a fiery liquid gem to try. The playful tipples are designed by Arriba’s bar manager Aditya Yonida, bringing with him an impressive and inspiring experience in mixology.
Complementing the vivacious drinks is a selection of lush, hearty takes on the street food found in many regions of South America. Savour pork anticuchos with Balinese sauce, or the zesty pesca del dia pempek ceviche to go with your drink of choice. If you need more to satiate your hunger, you can always head down to Chupacabras for a feast to remember.
