On 6th October, the Managing Director of Astrolabe wines, Jason Yank, graced E&O restaurant at Mega Kuningan with a fun and intimate wine dinner. The 2014 Province Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand, accompanied the evening’s appetizer of Hanoi crispy spring rolls and miang kham of soft shell crab, while the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc from the Taihoa Vineyard and the 2008 The Rocks Pinot Gris, Marlborough were paired with main courses of crunchy caramelized chicken, open Peking duck steamed buns and grilled beef salad.
The second main courses of the evening, were accompanied by the 2013 Pinot Noir, Wrekin Vineyard and 2013 Pinot Noir, Sleepers Vineyards, two of the newest single vineyard wines of Astrolabe. Only 300 each were produced worldwide, and the guests were delighted to caught a taste of these highly coveted vintages at the dinner.
To wrap up the evening, sweet dessert was paired with the 2009 Riesling, Astrolabe Farm.
The casual dining scene was merry and full of warmth as Jason explained the properties of each wine and guided the guests through a mental tour of Marlborough vineyards and beyond.
