Chihuly Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
Carefully handcrafted by Executive Pastry Chef Terence Pang, the Cherry ‘K’ Macaron at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore’s Chihuly Lounge is a contemporary, artistic interpretation of the classic French delicacy. It comes as part of the weekend afternoon tea spread, and it is one of our favourite additions to the classy ritual. The macaron draws inspiration from the hotel’s impressive art collection – 4,200 pieces from acclaimed artists including Frank Stella, Andy Warhol and Dale Chihuly. The reason being, Chef Pang endeavoured to create a dessert that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. The result is the retro-chic Cherry ‘K’ Macaron, sporting a harmonious blend of refined kirsch and a hint of slightly bitter almond flavour. The final touch is the sweet cherry filling, rounding it all off as a sweet and stylish candied confection. (www.ritzcarlton.com)
