The JimBARan Outdoor Lounge at the InterContinental Jakarta MidPlaza, is a sophisticated inner-city sanctuary; a relaxed oasis amidst the high-rise Jakarta cityscape and just a perfect place for after-work drinks and light bites. It’s also home to some excellent cocktails created by its resident mixologist and where J is for the refreshing JimBARan River. The JimBARan River is a long, chilled shaken and strained cocktail served in a tall chilled Collins glass over ice with an orange or lemon slice and maraschino cherry garnish. Based on a blend of Jim Beam bourbon, De Kuyper Triple Sec, freshly squeezed lime juice, sprite and black tea, all the ingredients are added to an ice-filled shaker, mixed vigorously then strained into the prepared chilled glass. Fresh, lively and not over heavy on the spirits, it’s a perfect cocktail served in a great setting to take the heat out of Jakarta’s hot days and sultry tropical nights!
