Koma Singapore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

KOMA Singapore, situated within the stunning Marina Bay Sands, offers a unique blend of exquisite Japanese cuisine and breathtaking design, creating an extraordinary dining experience. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Shintaro Hozumi, KOMA presents an innovative menu featuring sushi and robatayaki dishes, all complemented by a bar and lounge boasting over 30 varieties of sake sourced from across Japan.

Every detail at KOMA has been thoughtfully designed to captivate guests. Guests begin their journey by walking through a 20-metre-long passageway inspired by Kyoto’s iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine torii gates, setting a visually stunning tone for the experience ahead. Inside, the bar and lounge are adorned with glass owls, symbols of wisdom and good fortune, alongside a dramatic suspended wooden grid.

The centrepiece of the restaurant is a towering 2.5-metre-high Japanese bell, intricately designed with 20 faces, overlooking a serene footbridge and reflecting pool. The dining room features a soaring seven-metre-high ceiling, accentuated by acoustic panels shaped like lily pads, resembling the surface of a tranquil pond. Anchoring the room is a 15-seat sushi bar that showcases the finest daily catches in a dazzling display. On the mezzanine level, a semi-private dining area provides the perfect setting for intimate gatherings, offering panoramic views of the vibrant atmosphere below.

Chef Shin, a third-generation sushi chef from Tokyo, brings his global culinary experiences to life through his dishes. His menu celebrates bold and adventurous flavours, presented with meticulous artistry. Standout offerings include the salmon pillow, a crispy puff pastry filled with smoked avocado and topped with salmon sashimi and charred jalapeño. However, the pièce de résistance is the Snow-aged Niigata wagyu, a dish that exemplifies culinary excellence. This A5-grade wagyu is aged using the traditional Japanese method of Yukimuro, or snow ageing, a 200-year-old technique that naturally preserves and enhances flavour. Aged for 30 days, the beef develops unparalleled umami depth, showcasing rich marbling and extraordinary tenderness that delivers a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
