Showcasing the flavoursome delights of magnificent Peru, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah held a two-week Peruvian Delight event to promote the country’s culinary bonanza with a special buffet presentation, a wine paired dinner and exclusive cooking classes.
The intimate gala dinner kicked off the event on 12 July at The Studios, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, opened with a welcoming speech by Julio Cardenas, the Ambassador of Peru to Indonesia. “This has been an annual agenda that strengthens the relationship between Peru and Indonesia, and we are pleased to share our celebrated culinary culture,” he noted.
Flying in directly from Peru, chef Jaime Arbulu presented an exclusive six-course Peruvian dinner, during which guests savoured enticing Peruvian cuisine from a salmon cevichero and asparagus of viru to seafood parrilleros and magret of northern duck. A traditional musical performance accompanied the delightful feast, which ended with a luscious passion fruit semifreddo.
