Seminyak’s favourite watering hole, 40 Thieves, is proud to present a new event called The 40 Thieves Throwdown, an old-fashioned cocktail-making competition pitting the most skilled bartenders from the best bars in Bali against each other. In true 40 Thieves’ cheeky fashion, the showdown sees two bartenders go head to head, each escorted by their managers in their respective corners – boxing-style.
Only one of the two bartenders can go through to the next round, taking place later this year. It will be a monthly competition, with four preliminaries, two semi-finals and a final. A panel of handpicked judges helps decide the leading contenders by scoring each contestant’s three unique cocktail creations, based on the presentation, technique, innovation and taste. The 40 Thieves crowd also plays a role in determining the winners, as there will be bonus points for the best-selling cocktails of the night.
With the first instalment of the series taking place on 1st February, pitting outstanding establishments Frestro with AYA Street, the exciting brouhaha will keep you on the edge of your seat – or the rim of your glass – and is definitely not one to be missed!
